My name is Gerard Bierens, I'm from Eindhoven (the Netherlands), and visiting CIL for the second time. I'm working for Fontys University of Applied Sciences.
My job description; officially it is 'Library Developer', in reality I'm not totally sure if that's what I'm doing, but something like 'library developer/trainer/writer' comes close. Over 6 years ago I started my (Dutch) blog. Every now and then you might see a photo of one of my beautiful kids, but the main topics are libraries, education and technology.

If you want to get in touch with me, have lunch, dinner, a drink during the congress just email or IM me, or find me on Twitter. |
Last year I joined Moqub for CIL2007. My goal then was to hear more about federated search, and it paid off, from january 2008 we've got a brand new federated search engine up and running at our Fontys Library Portal. This year I'm visiting CIL2008 for several reasons, one of them is to get in touch again with all those great minds I met last year. |
