Marsha Spiegelman and Richard (Ricky) Glass

As can be seen from the image, we both got into computers very early and have been active in curriculum development for many years.  Currently, we are incorporating Information Literacy into both degree mathematics/computer science courses and in General Liberal Mathematics courses in a Web 2.0 environment that employs blogs and wikis with a game storyboard.  At Computers In Libraries, we will be highlighting our Grateful Dead Scientists: Battle of the Minds Game which combines History of Mathematics and Information Literacy in Calculus II and III along with our Headlines Of the Times Game which uses database searches as a practical application of Boolean Logic and Set Theory in a General Liberal Arts Mathematics Course.  Who knows, there may be some surprise insight into a Second Life version of one of our games.

Having already presented at national mathematics conferences as well as state and local library and technology conferences, we are excited about presenting our collaboration on a national library conference stage.

We hope that you will stop by and catch our talk:

Wednesday, 4/9 Session C302 — Gaming & Learning 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

The rest of the conference looks great.  We plan on attending many of the talks and sharing ideas and experiences.
