Hello! I'm Anna Creech, and this will be my first time attending the Computers in Libraries conference, although I've been hearing about it for years (and wishing I could attend). Some of you may know me from my blog, Eclectic Librarian, and some of you may know me from other online avenues or in real life. I'm going to assume that most of you have no clue as to who I am, which may be for the best.
Until recently, I was the Serials & Electronic Resources Librarian at Central Washington University, which involved a lot of financial finagling and spreadsheets, in addition to materials processing and staff management. Currently, I am the Electronic Resources Librarian at the University of Richmond, which involves none of the above except for the spreadsheets. There's no way to avoid the spreadsheets. I guess I do still have the staff management thing, but not nearly as much as before. I like my new job and new colleagues, in small part because it puts me close enough to CiL to make it feasable to attend.
I hope to be able to find a balance of CiL sessions between things that directly impact my job and things that broaden my professional horizons. I may also end up picking sessions based on the presenters more than the topics, which will likely fall under the "broadening my horizons" category. In any case, I look forward to meeting you all and to the opportunities to share and learn.
For those who are interested, I should be arriving Sunday evening.
