Tech Guy Hobbert (Maurice Coleman's Simpsons Avatar) Greetings and salutations, my name is Maurice and I am the Technical Trainer at the Harford County (MD) Public Library in Maryland and was Co-chair of our system's Learning 2.0 "kick off" Technology Fair.

My job is to help our staff learn about and leverage new and existing electronic and other tools and technologies in a modern library setting.

I am also an avid blogger at Chronicles of the (almost) Bald Technology Trainer and a one of six community builders/leaders of our state (MD) library system's collaborative learning website merlin -- Maryland's Essential Resouce for Library Information Networks. I actually started my blog during last year's Computers In Libraries conference during a morning coffee break.

This will be my second year attending CIL and this year I am co-presenting a part of Sunday Preconference Workshop 9 – Technology Training for Library Staff: Creativity Works!! scheduled from 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM and

Wednesday's Learning Track  -- Session D302 — Staff Tech Training 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. I hope that you will stop by one of our sessions and learn how we held a "Technology Petting Zoo". Find me during the conference and say howdy. Or via IM during the conference using twitter/aim/meebo/yahoo/googletalk at baldgeekinmd

Harford County (MD) Public Library is an innovative, forward thinking mid-sized library system in Northeastern Maryland with a circulation of almost 4 million volumes of books, DVD’s, video games, puzzles, and developmental toys, puzzles and games (Our Learning and Sharing Collection) circulated by a system staff of 400 per year. I have worked for HCPL for over five years and have been training on technology and community organizing skills for the past 15 years in New York and Maryland.
